In my opinion there are two great places to get fire roasted chicken in Los Angeles. Which one is better, I’ll leave to you. Pollo a la Brasa is one. Their Peruvian style rotisserie chicken is fall off the bone juicy. For $7.50 you get a half chicken, rice and black beans (or fries). They serve it with a spicy, semi tart, green sauce that seems harmless at first, but the heat kicks in after a few seconds. The dining room is small and a little dingy, but it also makes a great take home meal.

My second choice is Dino’s Burgers in south LA. The first time I tried to go here, was a Saturday afternoon, and the line was a mile long. So I went back during the week to try it again. It was still busy, but food is served quickly. Their most popular item is not a burger. It’s their chicken plate, El Pollo Maniaco. This bright orange, grilled chicken is amazing. Served over fries and drenched with a deliciously tangy, vinegary marinade. You’ll be licking the tips of your orange fingers. The joint is Greek owned, but mostly caters to Hispanics. A chicken plate with fries, coleslaw, and corn tortillas, will only set you back $4.50. Amazing!
