Korean infused tacos are all the rage right now. But not all great tacos are created equal. Take Sky’s Gourmet Taco’s located on a stretch of Pico that is known for it’s eclectic food choices. You can find anything from chicken and waffles to Cuban to some of LA’s best Kosher restaurants along the Pico corridor. Sky’s Tacos, open since 1992, are infused with a little bit of soul, a little bit of love, and a lot of flavor.

Their massive tacos starting at $2.95 are a meal all alone. Their shrimp tacos are probably the best in the city. Large, plump shrimp, tossed in their “sassy” sauce, served in a lightly fried and crunchy tortilla that’s dusted with a red chili powder mixture. Their burritos are less burrito like and are served open faced. Burritos run from $4.95 on up to $12.95 for the Super Deluxe Lobster burrito. Their quesadillas are served inside out, with toppings spread on top, instead of inside the tortilla.

Other menu items include crawfish, mahi-mahi, salmon and tilapia tacos, specialty salads and chicken and shrimp tortas. They have recently added a vegetarian/vegan menu. Their lemonade is some of the best you will have too. Top it off with a slice of house made cheesecake and you have yourself a meal any mother would be proud of. They serve breakfast with items like double dipped french toast, Southern Sautéed Apples, tacos and burritos with eggs, pancakes, and grits. Seating is limited, with a few tables inside and a few on the sidewalk outside.

Matt, it’s different than BFTOE. Its got a lot more flavor. And they are not deep fried.
