A City of Los Angeles Historical Landmark, the San Antonio Winery was established in 1917 and it’s been serving up great wines to Angelinos ever since. If you haven’t been to experience it for yourself, this is the perfect excuse to finally check it out. As San Antonio Winery presents “Wine 101: Introduction to Wine ” Tasting and Food Pairing on January 24 from 1-4pm. They will be pouring a handful of wines including Louis Perdrier Rose Champagne Windbreak Chardonnay, Maddalena Vineyard Reisling, San Felice “Il Grigio” Chianti Classico Riserva, San Antonio “Heritage” Rhone Blend, San Simeon Cabernet Sauvignon, and Maddalena Vineyard Muscat Canelli.
The pairing menu is one to get excited about. Start it off with a puma goat cheese, orange and roasted eggplant salad with French vanilla glaze, basil oil and microgreens. Then a broiled Miso Alaskan black cod on a potato and chive pancake with Miso glaze. The final entree will be a roasted Ancho pepper crusted rack of lamb on roasted wild mushroom risotto with pinot noir coriander sauce. Then for dessert, Island mango mousse with candied macadamia nuts and toasted coconut shavings.

This sounds very interesting. I am a big fan of CAlifrnia wines especially those around the Union City area, but have never heard of the San Anotnio winery and am looking forward to expanding my favorites list for California CHampaigns and Chardonays
