Happy Hour Tuesdays at Medusa Lounge

Lowenbrau Keller is now but a distant memory. Some of the kitsch remains, gargoyles, German beer kegs and a massive crystal chandelier are remnants of the past. But at the Medusa Lounge they cleaned up the claustrophobic decor and given it an ever so slight hipster makeover. On their happy hour Tuesday’s enjoy a sometimes great, albeit random, music spun by an in house DJ. And you can’t miss with the all night happy hour specials. Not just between 5 and 7 pm can you enjoy half off all beers, well mixed drinks, and bar drink specials. Like Lionel Richie says, it’s all night long. The have 9 beers on tap, including Spaten and Dinkel Acker. One of the few places you can still get a pitcher of beer. They also have a special lounge food menu.

The food, no more guessing as to what Frau Olga has on the menu this night. It’s fresh Bruschetta ($6), a grilled crostini topped with cherry tomatoes, olive oil, fresh basil and oregano. Or the Four Cheese Deep Fried Ravioli ($8) in a tomato caper sauce topped with white truffle sauce. The lamb chop is divine. An herb crusted petite chop with asparagus and mashed potatoes for $10. Other specials include Soft Shell Crab ($8), Calamari ($8), Chicken Strips ($8), Garlic Shrimp ($10), Garlic Fries ($7) and Sweet Potato Fries ($8).

The Medusa Lounge is a unique bar in an obscure neighborhood, but it’s worth checking out. It’s never crowded and the service is always friendly.
