The new and improved Pagoda Bar at Hollywood’s historic Yamashiro has kick started summer off with its BBQ pool parties. Every Sunday from 2-5pm, Executive Chef Jason Park is grilling up $3 cheeseburger sliders and Kurobuta carnita sandwiches served with a side of Asian coleslaw and house made pickles. Enjoy muddled cocktails like the strawberry Basil-Jito, Glover’s Gimlet, or one of Norman’s famous Mai Tais while you dip your toes in the pool and soak up the sun.
The burgers and pulled pork sliders were delicious. Served hot and fresh off the grill, the buns are toasted and well worth the measly $3 price tag. Drinks are a bit pricey at around $14 each, but these cocktails are served in large plastic poolside friendly glasses and just one will have you buzzing on a Sunday afternoon.

Bring your suit, hang by the pool, have a cocktail and a kurobuta carnitas slider.

Exec Chef Jason Park and his Chef de Cuisine prepare sliders for the poolside patrons.

The Kurobuta Carnitas Sandwiches are loaded with
moist, smokey carnitas and mixed with a sweet hoison BBQ sauce.

The juicy Cheeseburger slider, topped with a tangy honey dijon, grilled onions, lettuce, and a fresh tomato. Served with a side of Asian coleslaw.
This Sunday, June 28th, enjoy an extra special Ultimat Vodka pool party with hosted hors d’oeuvres, $3 BBQ sliders, music mixology by DJ Kamayo, and of course muddled cocktails. The party starts at 2pm and goes till 5pm. Just don’t forget your bathing suit.

Looks great, thanks! Do people actually go swimming or just lounge by the pool?

Yeah, a lot were swimming, some were just lounging, the others relaxing under the shade of umbrellas.

Jason, the food is really good. For $3 you can’t go wrong. Sweede, you can wear your marble bag if you want. I heard the ladies love that.
