Too bad the Thousand Cranes experience was sub-par, hope it will be better when the tempura bar is actually there. And Daikokuya is pretty good, but even I’d be itching to go elsewhere if I found out there are 15+ parties ahead of me. Orochan is Weller Court is do-able alternative if ramen is whatcha crave.

I’m not one to correct spelling mistakes and such, but the name of the restaurant is Daikokuya. Just want to be sure someone looking for it on yelp or something looks for the right thing :p It’s totally and completely worth the wait.

Hello “carol”. I didn’t expect it, but when you claim to be authentic mexican cuisine, I figured it would at least be good. Have you been? The service and food were just plain awful. I have yet to read a good review of the place.

Why did you post with a different name on my review of Loteria? What are you trying to hide?

My reviews aren’t worthy of a Pulitzer, but they are honest and I know what a successful restaurant is and the only thing that will keep the people coming here is not knowing what lies ahead. But I doubt they will be getting much repeat business.

Thanks for the correction on the Cochinita Pibil Jess. No, J Gold I am not, and don’t claim to be! I’ve never been to Oaxaca, but if I do go, I imagine I may find better food than what I’ve had at Loteria. But until then, Loteria is a great spot for the area, and I’ve been back a few times and my experience has been positive each time.

I’m curious if you’ve been to this location? The service is outstanding.

Who expected to find authentic Mexico City food in a place such as Americana at Brand? If the reviewer goes with the intention to look at the negative side of restaurant, might as well pick up a cook book and cook at home. It’s not professional (if you can call this so-called reviewer that) to even mention a or imply that certain establishment is sure to close at a determined time. From what I can remember, ethical and moral reviewers tend to keep their opinions neutral, not wine and cry like those customers that publish their reviews on citysearch.
