City Beat, Food

The Tap Project starts on Sunday, don’t forget to check out one of the participating restaurants to donate your buck and give a child clean drinking water for 40 days.

During World Water Week (March 16 to 22, 2008), Tap Project is asking restaurants all over Los Angeles to encourage their guests to donate $1 for tap water that they would normally enjoy for free. Last year 300 restaurants in New York City participated, raising $100,000 in one day. This year the opportunity is being extended to restaurants in Los Angeles and in major cities throughout the country. For every $1 donation, a child is provided clean drinking water for 40 days. The Tap Project allows UNICEF to provide safe drinking water to children around the world. More info at the Tap Project web site.
