It’s that time of year again. The anticipation of opening day at Dodger Stadium is almost more than I can handle. I’ve been going to games since I was a kid. Win or lose I am there for the boys in blue year after year. Which also means the City of Los Angeles Softball Leauge is about to start thier Spring/Summer season. So it’s time to get warmed up! You have very few choices when it comes to batting cages in LA. But here are a couple in the area to keep in mind.

My favorite are the cages at Sherman Oaks Castle Park on Sepulveda in Sherman Oaks. The have both fast pitch baseball and high arc softball. They are full size cages and you really get to see the ball soar as you make contact. The other cages tend to be more like, well, cages and much smaller.
Sherman Oaks Castle Park
4989 Sepulveda Blvd.
Sherman Oaks, CA 91403

Other cage locations:
The Batcade
220 N Victory Blvd
Burbank, 91502
(818) 842-6455
Baseball Central
(note: You need someone to feed the machine for you at this location)
1858 S La Cienega Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90035
(310) 559-9782
Slamo Baseball
5750 Mesmer Ave
Culver City, CA 90230
(310) 398-5050
And coming soon… The Playa Vista Sports Center. I heard about this place on the radio, I thought I heard they would have batting cages. But when I went to the site there are no mention of them. I will have to go check them out for myself.
