Lots of spooktacular things going on this weekend. Join thousands of Zombies as they try to break the world record for Zombies dancing to Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Dance the night away at the LA Sports Arena at Halloweens largest dance party (besides the Zombie thing). Or take your kids to the LA Zoo for some safe family Halloween fun. And finally, if you consider your pet as a kids, dress them up and take them to the Haute Dog Howl’oween Parade in Long Beach.
Oct 25 – Thrill The World
(11 am) Hollywood
Zombies invade Hollywood & Highland on Saturday as part of the Thrill the World event. Thrill The World is a group working to set the world record for the most people to do Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance simultaneously. You can join in on the fun just get to H&H at 9am to get set up. Bring your own make-up supplies and zombie-ish clothes. Or just enjoy all the craziness and watch from the balcony above.
Oct 25 – Monster Massive 2008 at the Los Angeles Sports Arena
(7 pm) Downtown Los Angeles
The 11th Annual Halloween Costume Spooktacular is Americas largest Halloween dance music festival. The LA Sports Arena is tranformed into a haunted world for this music event like no other. Admission starts at $60 and can be purchased here.
October 25 & 26 – Boo at the L.A. Zoo
(10am – 4pm) Griffith Park
Have a safe and spooky Halloween weekend of fun festivities at the Zoo. Eucalyptus Grove will become a giant Pumpkin Patch with jack-o-lantern carving, photo opportunities, and eerie crafts. The Freaky Fun House at Treetops Terrace will feature Halloween entertainment, tasty treats, face painting, wacky mirrors, and an amusement zone filled with games. Admission to the zoo is $12 for adults and $7 for kids over two. Wear a costume and get $1 off admission!
October 26 – Haute Dog Howl’oween Parade
(2 pm) Long Beach
The Haute Dog Howl’oween Parade is the world’s largest Halloween pet event. More than 600 costumed dogs in the 2007 parade. Flying monkeys, witches, ballerinas and–yes–hot dogs are just a few of the costumes dogs have worn in past parades. Prizes will be awarded to the judges’ favorite top-13 entries, plus these four overall awards: best “float,” best overall canine costume (on any one dog), best costume on a human, and best “group theme.”
