Dec 12 – Learn to Build a Gingerbread House
Culver City; (5pm-6pm)
What’s more Christmas than sitting down and creating a Gingerbread House? Join Trevor Zimmerman, of Deuce Events, as he demos the perfect gingerbread house. Families are encouraged to attend this interactive and kid friendly demo in the Surfas test kitchen. Admission is free, limited to space. For more info check out the Surfas web site.
Dec 12-31 – Light of the Angels
Nokia Plaza at L.A. Live; (7pm-10pm)
Enjoy an plethora of seizure inducing holiday lights and sounds at the daily multi-media light spectacular performed on the hour in Nokia Plaza. Feast your eyes on a 37,500 lb tree that soars 52 feet above Nokia Plaza covered with 11,000 XL Sphere LED lights. The free Angel-themed show is 5-7 minutes long and plays at 7, 8, 9 and 10pm. Enjoy a special Coca Cola Parade on the 13th from 5:30-7:00pm.
Dec 12-30 – Biltmore Holiday Afternoon Tea
Biltmore Hotel, Downtown Los Angeles; (2pm-5pm)
The Biltmore is by far the most beautiful hotel in downtown Los Angeles. At 85 years old, it’s rich in history and beautiful architecture. In the 30’s and 40’s it hosted 8 academy award shows. From now till the end of the month enjoy a special holiday tea, featuring an assortment of tea sandwiches, miniature desserts like Pumpkin Cheesecake and Pecan-Chocolate Tarts and freshly-baked maple scones with light Devonshire cream and jam. A wide selection of blended and herbal teas are available, as well as hot cider, creamy eggnog and champagne. Price is $35 for adults ($45 with champagne) and $25 for children.
Dec 13 & 14 – Charles Phoenix’s Moonlight Rollerway Holiday Jubilee
Glendale; (8pm & 3pm)
Charles Phoenix’s uniquely entertaining and hilarious Retro Holiday Slide Show, created from vintage slides found at thrift shops and estate sales, moves to the Moonlight Rollerway, Southern California’s last classic roller rink – where it will be followed by a Roller Skating Revue Spectacular starring 75 champion skaters celebrating all the holidays of the year with a variety of colorfully costumed musical acts set to live organ music: New Years Eve, Valentine’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, Easter, The 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Dec 14 – American Apparel Annual Christmas Sale

As reported by Angelenic, American Apparel is having their annual Christmas sale on Dec 14th. This event promises to be much more low key than their summer event. $5 entry gets you some of the best shopping deals of the year on colorful cotton clothing. Early bird catches the worm on this one, late bird gets to take home a pair of irregular knee high tube socks.
