Dessert Week at Surfas

Just in time for the Holidays it’s time for Dessert Week at Surfas. On December 3rd, 4th, and 6th, a collection of some of the best local pastry chefs and local bloggers come together in the Test Kitchen at Surfas for three days of intensive baking and pastry classes. Subjects include Fondant Cake Decorating on Dec 3 from 2:30-4:30 ($45), The Business of Baking on Dec 6 from 11am-2pm ($200), and the best Buttercream frosting. Chefs include Melody Brandon of Sweet and Saucy Shop, Jamaica Crist of Jamaica’s Cakes and Clemence Gossett of Gourmandise Desserts. These are great seminars for the casual home baker or even for other professional bakers looking to build their business. Meet with the chefs and learn some great baking techniques.

The series finishes off on December 6th (2:30-5pm, $75) with a panel of six LA Food Bloggers including Erika Kerekes of In Erika’s Kitchen, Patti Londre of WorthTheWhisk, Brooke Burton of Foodwoolf and Gaby Dalkin of WhatsGabyCookin.
