Friday, November 8

Learn About Wine – Desert Wine
Downtown Los Angeles (7-9pm)
Taste a selection of top dessert wines from around the world with Learn About Wine, along with a plate of cheese, chocolate and deliciousness! Sample over 19 different Muscat, Ice Wine from Canada, Riesling, Sherry, and more. Class is lead by wine educator and great story teller Ian Blackburn. Price is just 2 for $129, makes a great date night! If you can’t make the class on Friday, there is a class on Saturday too.

Get Your Phil – Dinner & Concert Packages
Downtown Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Philharmonic is partnering with some of Downtown LA’s best restaurants for the launch of their Get Your Phil program: a specially crafted prix fixe dinner for only $32 per person (including tax/tip, doesn’t include alcoholic beverages), followed by a wonderful concert (some packages start at a bargain rate of $50 per person) at Walt Disney Concert Hall. At dinner, guests will also enjoy an insightful presentation about the concert by a special guest and a member from the LA Phil. Upcoming restaurants include Border Grill, Le Ka, First & Hope, and Blue Cow.

Wine Riot
Downtown Los Angeles
Wine Riot is back in Downtown LA for another great event filled with wines from around the world. They’re bringing the Bubbly Bar and Wine 101 Booth to LA, along with dozens of great wineries from South America and France, to right here in Southern California. Tickets are $60. Ride the Metro to DTLA for the best wine event in California.

Veterans Appreciation Festival
San Pedro
The City of Los Angeles invites you to attend the free festival full of family fun in appreciation of our veterans! Show your appreciation for all that this nation’s veterans have done to protect our freedom. This free festival is for the whole family and will include free USS IOWA tours for veterans and active-duty military personnel (with ID), live music, a resource fair, kids’ activities, and food trucks! 23rd Annual Champagne Fest
West Los Angeles
There will be over 70 Vintage and Non-Vintage Champagnes at the Wine House 23rd Annual Champagne Fest. Come find the perfect holiday sparkler. Complimentary Valet Parking. Passed hors d’oeuvres provided. Special pricing on selected Champagnes for attendees this day ONLY. Stock up for the holidays with your favorites! Gallery Secrets at NHM
Los Angeles (SAT & SUN)
This is the Natural History Family’s second collaboration with Chalk Repertory Theatre. Each night features four short original comedies and dramas by L.A. writers, set from 1913 to today. Audience members will be divided into four groups to be led through the full play cycle, before meeting in the main foyer for cocktail hour at the end of the show. $20 Members; $25 Nonmembers.

Sunday Roasts at Mignon
Downtown Los Angeles (3-6pm)
There’s something so familial about a roast. Cooking a large piece of meat, carving it, and sharing it with friends and family. It’s not about finesse or perfection; it’s more fun, casual, and comforting. Every Sunday Mignon features a different cut of meat, simply roasted and served with roasted Weiser Farms Potatoes Lyonnaise, and a Petit Salad with Maggie’s Farms greens. $20/plate. First come first serve.

Sundays Live
Los Angeles (6-7pm)
LACMA’s weekly chamber music series, Sundays Live, features the best of national, international, Los Angeles and emerging artists. These one-hour concerts are presented free to the public at 6 pm each Sunday in the Leo S. Bing Theater. Admission is free. While you’re there, check out Ray’s Stark Bar for a cocktail, or two or three.

LA Derby Dolls
Echo Park (6-10pm)
The L.A. Derby Dolls are Southern California’s premiere all-female, banked track roller derby league. Watch girls on wheels as they battle out on the track with two teams of five players each: four blockers (one of whom wears a striped helmet cover as the “pivot”) and one jammer. Races take place every other Saturday and some Sundays. A full season schedule can be browsed here.

Silver Lake Farmers’ Market
Silver Lake (8am – 1pm)
The Silver Lake Farmers’ Market offers more than just fresh, local produce. Customers can also find vintage clothings, jewelry, music, and snacks, giving it more of a flea market vibe.

Weekend Flights at Rosso Wine Shop
Glendale (5-8 p.m.)
A new wine theme each week. Whether it is their Old World favorites or Pinot Noir from Russian River, they mix it up and keep the price reasonable. Visit for more details. They also have wines by the glass available at the bar, along with some select beer picks by the bottle, if the wine flight doesn’t work for you. Cost is around $10.

Maxwell DeMille’s Cicada Club
Downtown Los Angeles
Travel back in time to the glamorous days of Hollywood’s golden age of nightclubs at the Cicada Club in Downtown. Featuring the finest vintage dance orchestras and entertainment, Maxwell DeMille’s Cicada Club is unlike any night on the town you have ever experienced. Vintage or evening attire encouraged. November 15The Single Malt & Scotch Whisky Extravaganza features a sampling of over 100 of Scotland’s most prestigious single malt & Scotch whiskies, as well as unique single malts from Ireland and Japan. The Extravaganza takes place during the spring and fall seasons. Each event is held at the finest hotels and private clubs in the United States to ensure an elegant, comfortable and relaxed environment.

November 17The 12th Annual Fall Wine Classic in Yorba Linda brings together over 50 prestigious wineries from all over California and over 500 wine enthusiasts for a wine tasting event like no other. The East Room of the Richard Nixon Library is stunning and provides the perfect sophisticated & elegant venue for the annual event.

November 22 – School is officially back in session with the commencement of Nick + Stef’s popular Meat 101 series. The restaurant’s signature program provides an opportunity for meat lovers to sample, compare, and explore different cuts and aging techniques through an intimate interactive approach guides by Executive Chef Logan. Once again recognizing the importance of pairings, carefully selected wines will be offered to attendees of the culinary educational evening.
