Osteria Drago is the newest Italian restaurant from Master Chef Celestino Drago. The perennial Drago has chosen the old Il Sole space, a comfortable neighborhood restaurant, and revamped it with a refreshing new look and features classic Italian dining. We are big fans of Chef Drago, often dining at his wonderful downtown Drago Centro. More cozy than his DTLA spot, with less fanfare, this new location is decidedly different.
Stop in for a quick power lunch amongst the hollywood agents or stay a while for dinner and enjoy multiple courses of burrata insalate, spelt pancake with a 63° poached egg, yellow corn filled agnolotti, and oven roasted branzino. It’s location along Sunset Blvd makes it the perfect stop for dinner and a bottle of wine before a night out on the strip. We were recently invited in for a blogger wine pairing dinner to check out the new digs and Drago has hit the mark with our new favorite Sunset Plaza dining destination.
We were stuffed to the gills with a delicate Burrata and Baby Beat salad, melt in your mouth Yellow Corn Filled Agnolotti, Pappardelle with Roasted Pheasant and flavor packed Morel Mushrooms, crispy Oven Roasted Branzino, Red Wine Braised Beef Short Ribs (brined then cooked sous-vide style), and a Panna Cotta with Nutella Bread Pudding.
Tune into the KTLA 5 Morning News Monday morning at 8:30 AM to see the one and only Celestino Drago cook up some Maestro Sausage to help get the word out about the upcoming (Oct 14) Italian American Museum of Los Angeles’s Taste of Italy L.A.
