Promised as early May, Uncle John’s Cafe is now open for business in the former Mother Road space at the
Stillwell Hotel. The menu is simple with classic American diner favorites like omelets, burgers, BLT’s, and patty melts, along with a couple dozen Chinese food dishes like Spicy Pork Chops loaded with jalapeno peppers and green onions, a sweet Chasu (BBQ Pork), Chow Mein and Kung Pao Shrimp. This affordable grub is all priced between around 8 bucks, and served with love from the cafe’s owners.
You’ll feel right at home with the friendly service, and good food. We even got a special treat of something new they were trying out. On a recent trip to Hong Kong, they discovered ball waffles being served on the streets. They liked em so much, they bought their own inverted waffle maker and are now serving up these tasty Hong Kong street treats to downtown workers and residents.
Right now business hours are breakfast and lunch Monday through Saturday, but once they get their legs under them at this new location (they were previously located a few blocks away), they’ll be open for dinner too. Follow them on twitter or facebook.

Thanks, Matt. Don’t get too excited about those waffles though…we’re still trying to perfect the recipe before we introduce them to everyone.
They were very good already. Can’t wait to try them again!
