How many Dodger Dogs can you possibly eat in a season? Mix it up a little and stop in at Eastside Market Italian Deli before the next game. Located right around the corner from the Stadium, this hidden gem serves up some great sandwiches, and has been doing so since 1929. It’s the last of 4 Italian markets that stood on this block nearly 80 years ago. During the week, the restaurant is packed with city hall employees, lawyers, police officers, and locals. But on this day, it’s packed with Dodger fans fueling up before the opening day game vs the Giants.
Try a a cold cut combo, a perfect combination of meats, with ham, salami, capicollo, mortadella and provolone served on a french roll. Or try a hot meatball and peppers with fresh mozzarella cheese oozing out from beneath the bread and hot tomato sauce. Their most popular sandwich is a hot Roast Beef & Pastrami, get it with just mayo and mustard and you have yourself something better than a cold and stale Canter’s Pastrami from inside the stadium (and a little cheaper too.) Pricing is simple, all sandwiches are $6.80. Call ahead and your order will be ready when you get there.

Eastside Market Italian Deli has been tucked away on on Alpine St for 80 years.

Inside, the choices are simple, hot and cold sandwiches. With the occasional lasagna or spaghetti on special.

Yes, you can bring the sandwich into the stadium, I've done it several times without any grief from security.

SWEET! for my next dodger game, I will hit this place up. Thanks for the recommendation.
damn, i could eat that italian sub right now.
That sandwich looks absolutely delicious. I don’t live in the LA area, however, finding new italian deli meat cafe’s are one of my passions. I will have to try that place when I go to LA this summer. My favorite local italian deli meat place is Volpi located on the famous Italian “Hill” in St. Louis. It is fabulous. You can get delicious mortadella, all kinds of various spiced salami too. Highly recommend thier italian deli meats. You can browse their gourmet meats and purchase online, they distrbute it all over the world. Yum! http://www.volpifoods.com
