Magnolia opens downtown

Hollywood mainstay Magnolia has opened Downtown location within walking distance from Staples and LA Live. They’ve brought a little bit of class to this corner which includes the drab LA classic The Pantry and overpriced Riordan’s Tavern. It’s the same menu as the Hollywood location and Executive Chef Richard Crespin, formerly of Gordon Ramsay and Jean Georges, will oversee the menu for both Magnolia locations. The unpretentious decor is very welcoming with subway tiles, comfy leather banquettes, white marble bar, a lounge area with fireplace for drinks and appetizers and two outside patios.

The food here, is classic American comfort, with apps like mac and cheese, ahi tuna tartare, and salads, sandwiches, entrees which include rigatoni bolognese, skirt steak, salmon, a pork chop, braised short ribs, and a prime new york strip steak. This will definitely be my downtown spot for some grub before going out, or good for happy hour after work. Speaking of, they plan on having happy hour specials with delivery for downtown workers and denizens coming soon.
