Here’s a good way to get as close to the glamour of Hollywood and the Oscars, without actually being at the Dolby Theater on February 24. From 5 p.m. to Midnight, Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel hotel is hosting a live Oscar viewing party at Public Kitchen & Bar. The site of the very first Academy Awards in 1929, the Roosevelt is a beautiful and historic hotel, located in the heart of Hollywood just a block away from the Academy Awards.
There will be a limited amount of tables available for reservation during the broadcast, while you enjoy a meal from Executive Chef Tim Goodell. The three-course prix-fixe features signature items like Wagyu Beef Tartare with crostini and quail eggs; Dover Sole with cauliflower, brown butter, pine nuts, golden raisins, and capers; and Lemon Napolean with honey ginger ice cream. The ceremony will be projected on large flat screens installed around the dining room for easy viewing.
Public Kitchen & Bar’s Oscar viewing party prix-fixe menu is $99 per person (excluding tax and gratuity). Seating is limited and reservations require credit card information.
A selection of fresh oysters – Phantom Creek, Kushi, and Kumai – and sushi, including tuna, salmon avocado, and yellowtail rolls will also be offered in the main lobby where the ceremony will also be screened on a 15-foot display.
Live it up like your friends across the way and order up a bottle or glass of Cristal, Dom Perignon, Grey Goose, and Patron, to toast winners throughout the evening.
