Santa Monica Pier stalwart re-emerges as The Albright

Longtime Santa Monica Pier restaurant, SM Pier Seafood, has officially re-launched as The Albright. After 35 years, the family-owned restaurant has changed hands and has undergone a complete revamp! Of course you can expect an updated menu too, with the usual “locally sourced food”. We’re excited about the extensive craft beer and California wine program. We recommend the Peachy Canyon Zin.

To celebrate, The Albright will be offering a ’77 throwback menu this Thursday, January 16th, to honor prices from 1977 (the year that the original location opened). Usually priced at forty bucks, grab a live Lobster & Crab for $19.77, Fish & Chips for $4.50, or a Chowder for just a buck. Wash it all down with a one dollar Bud Light.

The restaurant is now run by Yunnie Kim Morena (her parents opened the original location in 1977). The slight modernization and streamlined look was imagined by architect David Alvarez of Studio Alvarez. Expect clean white tiles, with splashes of turquoise and plenty of communal seating.
